- Build a story around the one decision it needs to earn, instead of a general update
- Choose the single detail that most directly proves the decision, and cut the rest
- End a story with a line that states what it means for the decision and what to do next
What you'll be able to do
- Write a one-page update a leader can skim in under two minutes
- Open a message to a leader with their recommendation, then the reasoning behind it
- Name the hardest question a leader will ask, and answer it before they ask
What you'll be able to do
- Identify the real thing two people disagree about, underneath its surface symptom
- Lower the tension in a disagreement while still holding their own position
- Help two colleagues state what they each actually need, without taking either side
What you'll be able to do
- Send a first crisis message within the first hour, with what is known and what happens next
- Say honestly what isn't known yet, alongside what is being done to find out
- Write an apology that names the specific harm caused and what will change
What you'll be able to do
- Announce a resisted change by stating the reason plainly, including what it costs people
- Repeat a change message across several moments without it sounding identical each time
- Check whether a message actually landed, instead of assuming silence means agreement

Do I need to take the Beginner and Intermediate courses first?
Yes. This course assumes you already lead with the point, give and take feedback, and handle meetings and hard conversations. Those live in communication-skills-beginner and communication-skills-intermediate.
Does this course cover presentation skills or public speaking?
No. Slide design lives in presentation-skills and stage delivery lives in public-speaking. This course is about the written and spoken case you make for a decision, not slides or delivery on stage.
