Leadership Skills: Advanced
Craft a vision people act on, lead change they will resist, and grow leaders under you.
What you'll learn
- โฆCraft a vision specific enough that two different people would make the same choice from it, and translate it into everyday tradeoffs
- โฆCheck whether a vision has landed by watching what people choose when you are not there, not whether they can repeat it
- โฆDecide, before announcing a change, what to pilot, who to involve early, and how to sequence it so early gains actually hold
- โฆTreat resistance to a change as information, adjust the plan where it's true, without abandoning the change or repeating the message louder
- โฆTell a group's stated values apart from the culture it lives, and shape that culture through your own everyday decisions
- โฆProtect a group's culture on purpose as it grows, catching the small ways it quietly erodes
- โฆSet direction for a leader you manage by naming an outcome and a boundary, then grow their judgement by handing them decisions
- โฆChoose what not to do, make a hard call when evidence conflicts, and think beyond the current project's win

Questions about Leadership Skills: Advanced
Do I need to finish Leadership Skills: Beginner and Intermediate first?
This course assumes both: ownership, goals and decisions from Beginner, and trust, coaching and fair people decisions from Intermediate. If you already lead a group with its own leads, you can start here directly.
Is this only for people with 'manager' in their title?
No. It's for anyone who now leads leaders or sets direction for a wider group. That includes an engineering manager, a founder, a vice-principal or a student council general secretary, titled or not.
